They said that revenge is a dish served best cold, and for the Cornbelters they made sure of that. Four pitchers combined to provide a shutout performance against the Burlington Bees in a 4-0 victory, getting one back after the opening day loss to the division foe. 

It was more than the start that was needed for the Belters to start the action on Sunday afternoon. The scoring began in the bottom half of the first as Tyler Thompson knocked in a RBI-fielders choice to put the Belters ahead. It continued to grow after Nolan McCrossin was able to sneak in a RBI-single thanks to fielding errors from Burlington. Jackson Stanek was able to continue the momentum going strong in the 1st as Jackson Stanek hit an RBI-single of his own to put the Cornbelters ahead by three to start the game out.

The dream start of the first inning was followed up with the performance on the mound all day. It began with the starting performance of Dom Pannozzo. In the four innings he pitched, he faced 15 Bees batters and struck out eight, while allowing no hits, no runs, with no errors. He along with Will Paxson, Eli Tritinger, and Jonah Roper all combined for a total of 13 strikeouts in a shutout performance on Sunday.

The Cornbelters put on the finishing touch thanks to a sac-fly RBI from Carter Bleakney who brought in the fourth run in the fifth inning to put the finishing touches on an excellent day for the Cornbelters. 

With the victory, the Cornbelters moved into a three-way tie for first place with the Clinton Lumberkings and the Quincy Doggy Paddlers. All teams sit at 3-3 as the first week of play in the prospect league comes to a close. 

The Cornbelters are back in action at the Corn Crib to take on Quincy on Tuesday, First pitch is scheduled for 6:30.
