KCL Week #1 Recap: Sloths Lead After Opening Weekend
After a fantastic opening weekend, the KCL is officially underway. Four games in for each team, the league is already starting to show signs of leaders. The Ground Sloths started and ended hot, led by the Player of the Week Judah Morris and the Pitcher of the Week Gus Lucas, leading to their first place position in the standings. The Merchants, tied on record but behind on run differential, had several nail biters this weekend coming down to high scoring 7th innings. It sits at a tie for third in the league after the first weekend, with the Bluecaps edging out the Bobcats due to the Bobcat’s extreme run differential. Both teams look to challenge the leaders this week as we go around the rotation again Wednesday-Sunday, with the Cornbelters opener on Friday night.
